Is that another bologna sandwich, like I’ve been eating nonstop for lunch lately?

No! It’s TURKEY. And it’s refreshing. Variety really is the spice of life. I forgot how good a simple turkey-on-white bread can be. Just some thinly sliced tomato and a schmear of mayonnaise. And some Ruffles.

Bologna sandwich on white, with mayo and tomato slices. Also, barbecue Ruffles chips, red grapes, three mini dill pickles and a can of Throwback Mountain Dew. This has been a strange week. I’m trying to reign it back in with a little over-the-top normalcy here. (It ain’t workin’.)

Worked from home this afternoon and celebrated with a bowl of Spaghetti O’s with meatballs and a turkey sandwich on Wonder bread. I cannot tell you how happy this meal made me. That may make me weird, but I’m OK with that.

Home sweet home. Rather than ordering a pizza and extending our vacation’s culinary trail of bad-for-you foods, the Missus decided to whip up something healthy and tasty for us to eat at our dining room table. A spicy sausage link from the neighborhood co-op; couscous with diced red pepper, asparagus and Italian parsley; and cannellini beans with onions, garlic, green olives and cherry tomatoes. As much as I love vacation, I’ll soon be back to work and back to reality, but it’s a reality that me and my taste buds are totally fine with.
