Late night snacking: Leftover Chinese food, with a drizzle of Sriracha sauce.

Straight from the airport, my host took me to Seattle’s landmark late-night burger joint, Dick’s Drive-In. A perfect welcoming. I got a chocolate shake and the Dick’s Deluxe burger (for $2.70) which featured two thin patties, cheese, lettuce, and chopped pickles. Not bad. Simple burger, nothin’ fancy. Exactly what you’d want and expect. The location we went to — on Broadway — just to happened to be the one featured in a Sir Mix-A-Lot video. My posse’s on Broadway now, too, Sir.

The Missus was in a midnight show in the Wrigleyville neighborhood, so we walked down to Pick Me Up Cafe for some late-night food. I had the “Cancun” breakfast, which was chorizo, eggs, veggies and toast. This place is awesome — food, decor, ambiance, everything. Especially if you’re trying to avoid people from the neighborhood’s overarching sports bar scene. Always a good idea.

After working late, and then joining some friends at a local watering hole, I returned home with a hunger. A hunger, I don’t mind saying, that drove me to eat two more of these miniature chicken sandwiches from the Target freezer. They’re terrible! Even with barbecue sauce! (Only two more to go before they’re officially gone. And I refuse to throw them away. That’s cheating. And insulting to starving people.)

Got home late from work with a rumble in my belly. Who knew these microwaveable Target-brand mini chicken sandwiches would be so dreadful? Answer: Everyone. I used mayo on one, Frank’s Red Hot Sauce on the other. Neither seemed to mask the barf. Only four more of these to go. I’ll have to get good and drunk first…

Got home at 1 a.m. from work on an empty stomach, so I chowed a bowl of generic Cheerios before slipping into bed.
