Turkey sandwich on white and some Ruffles. Trying to get back into the swing of work after a relaxing four-day weekend.

I had a strong urge for some bad Chinese food. The lunch hour had come and gone and I couldn’t get away to eat. Finally able to head to Panda Express at around 2:45 p.m. where I ordered chow mein noodles, orange chicken and kung pao chicken.

Urge satisfied.

And judging by the fortune, it’s a good thing I followed my stomach’s desires. It appears it’ll pay off handsomely sometime. It doesn’t say soon, just sometime.

Leftovers have never looked so good.

Made a brisket sandwich for lunch today with the glorious remnants of last night’s Smoque excursion. I didn’t eat the ribs on this plate, though. I made a deal with the Missus via text — I ate the rest of her salad, and she gets the meat. Win-win.

I heard a “pop” and realized, “Oh yeah, if I run the toaster and the microwave at the same time, it blows a fuse.”

Campbell’s chicken corn chowder with a couple slices of toast. Simple, cheap, electrically powerful.

I skipped breakfast this morning, so I needed to make up for it at lunch. Made a toasted turkey SuperSandwich, using all the fixins leftover from our weekend barbecue. American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion. I usually go bare-bones on my lunch sandwiches, so this was a shock-and-awe attempt to wow my mouth. Also: Red grapes and Aldi store-brand spicy salsa-flavored corn chips.

It’s full-on NATO coverage craziness at my work, so they sprung for a full spread for those of us putting in weekend hours. After being out in the sun for several hours, and probably walking close to five miles, this hit the spot.

Grabbed a beef sandwich, which was awesome, and a ham-on-pretzel-roll sandwich. And a couple cookies. And I’m not going to lie — I went back for another cookie or two as I was pounding out the copy.
