Woke up this morning and made an egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on white toast. I heated up some olive oil in a pan, then added some garlic powder to get it sizzling before adding the egg, some salt and some Frank’s Red Hot sauce.
It’s full-on NATO coverage craziness at my work, so they sprung for a full spread for those of us putting in weekend hours. After being out in the sun for several hours, and probably walking close to five miles, this hit the spot.
Grabbed a beef sandwich, which was awesome, and a ham-on-pretzel-roll sandwich. And a couple cookies. And I’m not going to lie — I went back for another cookie or two as I was pounding out the copy.
Thank goodness for this egg and cheese breakfast sandwich that the Missus made me. Due to a scheduling snafu, I thought I was starting work today at 2 p.m. Got an email at 10:10 a.m. from my editor asking me where I was.
Uh oh.
Sped to work in record time and ate it at my desk before heading out on an assignment. Editor wasn’t mad, which made this thing taste even better. (But truth be told, it was pretty damn good to begin with.)
Barely time for lunch today — was stuck working the phones to track down a story. Squeezed in about 10 minutes to eat this bologna sandwich and some cheddar and sour cream Ruffles. Mmmm. Ruffles.
Keeping it simple: Bologna sandwich and Ruffles chips.
